Circa 950 B.C.: A Libyan, Shoshenq I, founds the 22nd Dynasty of Egypt.
Circa 814 B.C.: Foundation of the city of Carthage.

5th-4th century B.C.: Formation of Berber kingdoms: the kingdom of Mauretania in the west and the Kingdoms of Masaesyli and Massylii in the center and the east respectively, along with the Carthaginian Expansion in North Africa.

Circa 331 B.C.: Expedition of Agathocles. Ailymas King of Libyans.

269-268 B.C.: Occupation of Messina by the Carthaginians. Beginning of the first Punic War.

239-237 B.C.: Maninus Pomponius Matho leads the Libyans in a revolt against the Carthaginians and occupies Tunis, Bizerte, and Utica.
